Find the leak
The technician checks the tread, valve and rim edge to find where air is escaping.
Whether a punctured tyre can be saved comes down to where the hole is and how big it is. Industry standards allow a repair only in the central tread, for injuries up to 6 mm; shoulder and sidewall damage needs a new tyre. We check that first, then fix what can be fixed where the car is parked, typically within 10 minutes on site.
We repair to the same limits tyre makers and fitters work to:
| Damage | Reason | Repairable? |
|---|---|---|
| Nail or screw in the central tread, up to 6 mm | Inside the zone both standards allow | Yes |
| Hole wider than 6 mm | Beyond the size a repair can safely seal | No |
| Anything in the shoulder or sidewall | These areas flex with every turn of the wheel and cannot be repaired | No |
| Cut, bulge or blister on the sidewall | The cords inside are damaged | No |
| Tyre driven on while flat | Running flat can crush the inner liner out of sight | Only after an inside check |
| Punctured run-flat | Some allow a tread repair under conditions; others advise replacement | Depends on the maker |

A plug pushed in from outside does not seal the inner liner, and it leaves the inside of the tyre unchecked for the damage a nail causes. Tyre industry standards do not accept a plug on its own as a repair.
The correct fix takes the tyre off the rim, inspects it from the inside, fills the injury with a stem and bonds a patch over the liner. That is a combination plug-and-patch, and it is what a proper flat tyre repair on site looks like. A sealant squirted through the valve, or a plug fitted in an emergency, only gets the car to someone who can do this.

The wheel is removed and the tyre dismounted so the inside can be seen.
You are told before any work is charged when the damage is outside the repairable zone.
The injury is prepared, filled and sealed with a combination repair bonded from inside.
The tyre is remounted, balanced and set to the placard pressure.

A tyre that loses pressure with no nail in sight leaks at one of 3 other points:
A worn or loose valve core
Corrosion on an alloy rim where the tyre bead seats
A cracked or bent rim from a kerb or pothole strike
The same leak check finds each of these.
Tyre pressure rises by about 1 psi for every 5.6°C rise in temperature. A tyre set on a cool morning reads higher by mid-afternoon in a Dubai summer. One set while hot reads low by the next morning.
Always set pressures cold, to the figure on the placard inside the driver's door jamb rather than the maximum moulded on the sidewall. An under-inflated tyre flexes more and runs hotter, which is when a small puncture turns into a failure.
Flat tyre repair at the kerb works for almost anything on four wheels:
Everyday hatchbacks, sedans and crossovers.
Large wheels and low-profile tyres handled with care.
Heavy wheels and all-terrain tyres, including after desert trips.
Vehicles that need to be back in service the same day.
Commercial tyres repaired at the depot or the kerb.
Yes, when it is in the central tread and no wider than 6 mm. Shoulder and sidewall damage needs a new tyre, apart from a sidewall hole of 3 mm or less on some tyres rated T or lower.
Only where the maker permits it and the damage meets its conditions. Otherwise the tyre is replaced.
Typically within 10 minutes on site, including the pressure check.
Yes. The mobile vans reach most basements and multi-storey car parks.
We carry replacement tyres for most common sizes, from brands such as Bridgestone, Pirelli and Michelin, and fit one on the spot.
Yes, including vans, taxis and rental cars.
Call or send a WhatsApp message; no membership is needed. Pay by card or online payment link once the work is done.
5 years from its date of manufacture. A vehicle fails the RTA technical test when its tyres are past that age. A repair on an older tyre does not help it pass.
No. Driving on a flat tyre crushes the sidewall, and a crushed tyre is repairable only after an inside check. Stop and call for help instead.
More than 20 mobile vans work across Dubai, day and night. The vans cover Al Karama, Dubai South, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, office car parks, villa communities and highways.
Send Battery Change Dubai a photo of the damage and your location. If the tyre can be repaired, we will say so; if it cannot, we will bring the right replacement.
