These terms apply from the moment a technician is booked by phone, WhatsApp or email. They cover the work done at the vehicle, the old battery, payment, cancellations and what to do if something goes wrong.
Where UAE consumer protection law gives you a right, these terms do not take it away. Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection, as amended in 2023, applies to every job whatever this page says.
The service is supplied by Battery Change Dubai, from Imperial Residence, Shop 6, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Dubai. "You" means whoever books the work, and the owner of the vehicle if that is someone else.
The quote and the battery sent out are based on what you tell us, so please give:
If the details turn out to be wrong and the battery brought does not fit, the technician will quote for the right one before anything else happens.
You confirm that you own the vehicle or have the owner's permission to have work done on it. Someone must be at the car with the key, because the battery cannot be tested or the engine started without it.
Where the car is in a basement, a tower car park, a gated community or a site with security, arranging the technician's entry is your responsibility. The bonnet must be able to open fully, or the boot or seat must be clear where the battery sits there.
Every job starts with a free test of the battery and of the alternator's charging output. If it shows the battery is sound and the fault lies with the alternator, the starter or the wiring, you will be told so before anything is sold.
A jump start is offered where the battery tests sound and has only been drained. It is not attempted on a battery that is swollen, cracked or leaking, and on start-stop and hybrid vehicles the technician uses the connection points the manufacturer specifies. A jump start is priced from AED 99, and the price is quoted on the phone before a technician sets off.
The replacement is matched to the vehicle's make, model and the specification of the battery it replaces, and fitted where the car stands. The price quoted on the phone, before a technician sets off, is the price you pay for that job.
Disconnecting a battery can reset stored settings such as radio presets, the clock and window positions. Resetting these afterwards is not a fault in the work.
The technician may refuse to work somewhere unsafe, such as a live traffic lane, and will arrange for the vehicle to be moved or recovered first.
A lead-acid battery is hazardous waste. The one removed from your vehicle is taken away by the technician at no charge for recycling.
Arrival times given on the phone and on the website are estimates, not guarantees. Traffic, weather, road closures and entry procedures at buildings all affect them. If the technician will be much later than the time given, you will be told, and you may cancel at that point without charge.
A booking can be cancelled free of charge before a technician is dispatched, and there is no call-out fee.
If we cancel, or the work cannot be completed, you pay nothing.
Each battery supplied and fitted carries a 1-year warranty, printed on its invoice. Claims are made through the contact page.
Apart from the battery itself, the consumer protection law gives you rights over the quality of the fitting work, and those rights stand alongside the battery's warranty.
The warranty excludes accidental damage and misuse; interference with the battery or its connections by any other person; failure caused by a charging-system fault that was reported to you and left unrepaired; and continued use once a fault has been reported.
We are responsible for loss or damage caused by work not done with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for faults that existed before the visit, for the results of a fault you were advised to have repaired, or for delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control.
Except where UAE law says otherwise, our liability for a single job is limited to the amount paid for it. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Tell us first, through the contact page, with the date of the job and what went wrong. We will look at it and, where the work was at fault, come back and put it right.
If that does not settle it, a consumer in Dubai can complain to the Department of Economy and Tourism through consumerrights.gov.ae, and at federal level to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
The laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the UAE govern these terms, and disputes go to the Dubai courts, without affecting your right to use the consumer complaint routes above. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the others still apply.
The version of these terms that applies to a booking is the one published on the day it was made.
