Privacy Policy for Calls, WhatsApp Bookings and This Website
Last updated 19 October 2026.
Sending a technician to a car means taking a phone number, a location and some details about the vehicle. This page sets out what happens to that information, and what the website records about a visit, under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 Regarding the Protection of Personal Data, in force since 2 January 2022.
1. The Business Responsible
Battery Change Dubai, from Imperial Residence, Shop 6, Jumeirah Village Triangle, Dubai, decides what personal data is collected and how it is used, and is the controller of that data under the law.
This policy follows Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 Regarding the Protection of Personal Data, and the article numbers below refer to that law.
2. What Is Recorded, Channel by Channel
a. A phone call
The number you call from, your name if you give it, and what you tell us about the car and where it is.
b. A WhatsApp conversation
Your WhatsApp number and profile name, the messages, and anything you send in them: a live location, a photo of the battery label, a voice note. WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and its own terms and privacy policy govern the app itself.
c. An email
Your address and whatever the message contains. Email suits invoices, warranty paperwork and requests about your data.
d. The job at the vehicle
Make, model and year, which decide the battery that fits
The plate, where an invoice or a warranty claim needs it
What was tested, what the readings showed and what was fitted, which is the record a later warranty claim depends on
How you paid: by card or online payment link
e. A visit to this website
The site has no forms, accounts or sign-ups. Google Analytics loads on every page and uses cookies to record the pages viewed, the device and browser, and an approximate location worked out from the IP address. The map in the footer is embedded from Google Maps; it loads from Google's servers and may set cookies of its own.
Nothing on this site asks for health, biometric, religious or other sensitive data, and none is needed to book a technician.
3. Why It Is Used, and What Allows It
The law does not allow personal data to be processed without the consent of the person it belongs to, apart from the cases listed in its Article 4. This is how each use fits:
Sending a technician, quoting and doing the job: necessary to perform the contract you asked for, or to take the steps you requested before it (Article 4, item 10).
Invoices and business records: required by other UAE laws that apply to the business (Article 4, item 11).
Checking a warranty claim against the original job record: part of performing the same contract, and, if a claim turns into a dispute, necessary to establish or defend rights (Article 4, item 3).
Offers and service reminders: only with your consent. UAE consumer protection law also bars a supplier from using consumer data for marketing without it.
Website measurement through Google Analytics: Google Analytics sets cookies when the site loads, and you can block or delete them in your browser settings (see clause 8).
Consent, where it is the basis, can be withdrawn whenever you like, as Article 6 requires, and withdrawing it does not undo what was done lawfully before.
4. Who Else Receives It
Personal data is not sold. It reaches others only where a job, a service we use, or the law needs it:
The technician sent to your car, who needs the location and the vehicle details
The battery's supplier or manufacturer, when a warranty claim has to be passed on to them
The payment provider handling a card or online payment
Google, which runs the analytics, tag manager and map services on this site; and Meta, which runs WhatsApp
A court, the police or another UAE authority, where the law requires us to disclose
5. Data Held Outside the UAE
Google and Meta operate servers outside the country, so using this site or WhatsApp means some data is processed abroad. The law allows cross-border processing under the conditions in its Articles 22 and 23.
6. How Long It Is Kept
Invoices and accounting records: as long as UAE commercial and tax law requires
Job records behind a warranty: for as long as needed to honour the warranty and settle any claim
Call logs, WhatsApp chats and emails that never became a job: only as long as needed to answer the enquiry
Analytics data: according to the Google Analytics retention setting
7. Your Rights
Under Articles 13 to 18 of the law you can ask us, in writing:
What personal data we hold about you, why, who it has been shared with and how long it is kept, free of charge (Article 13)
For the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable form, or for it to be passed to another business where that is technically possible (Article 14)
To correct or complete anything inaccurate, and to erase data we no longer need, subject to what other laws require us to keep (Article 15)
To restrict processing while accuracy is checked, or where it goes beyond the agreed purpose (Article 16)
To stop using your data for direct marketing (Article 17)
To have a person review any decision made purely by automated means. We make none about customers (Article 18)
Send requests by email or through the contact page. We will check that the request comes from you before releasing or changing anything. If you believe your data has been handled in breach of the law, you can complain to the UAE Data Office (Article 24).
8. Cookies, and How to Block Them
The analytics cookies are set by Google on this domain. Google Maps may set its own when the footer map loads. None of them is needed to read the site or to contact us.
Any current browser can show, delete and block cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from recording visits. Blocking them does not stop any part of this site from working, although the map may not appear.
9. Security and Breaches
The site is served over an encrypted connection.
If a breach puts the privacy or security of your data at risk, Article 9 requires us to report it to the Data Office and to tell you, with the steps taken in response.
10. Children
Booking a technician is for drivers and vehicle owners, and nothing here is aimed at children. If a child has sent us personal data, let us know and it will be deleted.
11. When This Policy Changes
The date at the top changes with every revision. A change to what is collected or who receives it will be described here, not just dated.
