Up to 2018The original body. The battery sits under the floor in the middle of the cabin, so the job is done from inside the car. The 2016 G-Class manual names an auxiliary battery for the automatic transmission.
Mercedes-AMG - G-ClassWe replace G63 batteries where the car is parked in Dubai, including cars that have stood for weeks in a villa garage. The 12V battery has moved twice. It sat under the cabin floor on the original W463 and went under the boot floor on the 2018 car. On the 2024 W465 it shares the boot with a 48V lithium-ion battery.
Three bodies have carried the G63 badge, and the battery sits somewhere different in each. Your year decides whether the job starts in the cabin or the boot.

The battery moves to the back, under the load floor of the boot. The 2019 manual specifies an AGM battery and adds standby mode for cars that stand.
The 12V AGM stays under the boot floor and a 48V lithium-ion battery joins it behind the side trim. The 2025 manual explains a short wait for the 48V side after any jump-start.

On an original W463 G63, the battery is under the floor in the middle of the cabin. The work happens from inside the car, with the floor panel lifted.
From 2018 the battery moved to the back of the boot, under the load floor. On the W465 the floor panel comes up once its four tie-down eyes are unscrewed. The 48V battery behind the side trim stays closed during a 12V visit.
Where the 12V battery is, how it is reached and what else shares the space.

A G63 that waits weeks between drives needs its battery looked after. The 2016, 2019 and 2025 G-Class manuals cover how.
What a G63 shows when its battery is losing the fight against long parking.
Auxiliary Battery Malfunction, which the 2016 manual ties to the automatic transmission's auxiliary battery no longer charging
Battery Charge Insufficient for Standby Mode when you try to park the car up
Please Wait Charging 48 V Battery on a W465 after a jump-start
A slow or failed start after a long stand, when the 2019 manual warns that a car parked over six weeks can suffer disuse damage
On the original W463, built up to 2018, it is under the floor in the middle of the cabin. The 2018 to 2024 car keeps it under the load floor at the back of the boot. The W465 G63 from 2024 has its 12V AGM under the boot floor and a 48V battery behind the side trim.
Yes. The W465 G63 carries a 48V lithium-ion battery behind the boot side trim, next to its 12V AGM battery under the boot floor. After a jump-start, the 2025 G-Class manual says the car can show Please Wait Charging 48 V Battery for a few minutes before it starts.
A parked G63 still draws power, and the 2019 G-Class manual warns that a car left for more than six weeks can suffer disuse damage. Standby mode, where the car offers it, preserves the starter battery. The manual adds that a start is not guaranteed once the displayed parking time is exceeded.
An AGM battery on the 2018 and later cars. The 2019 G-Class manual guarantees full function only with AGM, and the 2025 manual repeats it for the W465. On an original W463 the battery is matched from its fitted label. Either way, the size is confirmed against your VIN before the visit.
From AED 175 fitted, with the final price set by your G63's body and the AGM battery it takes. Cabin-floor cars and boot-floor cars take different batteries, so the price is confirmed for your year before the visit. Our 1-year warranty covers the battery we fit.
Yes. A G63 battery is reached from inside the cabin or through the boot, so a villa garage or basement bay gives enough room. We come to wherever the car is parked in Dubai, and on a W465 the 48V battery behind the side trim is left closed.
