Bosch Battery Replacement in Dubai, From S4 to S5 AGM

Neither is a start-stop battery: both are flooded starter batteries. The S4 suits all cars, Asian models included. The S5 is built for newer and upmarket cars with several electrical consumers. We fit the series on your old label, or the S5 as a step up when the car carries more electronics.

Standard start-stop takes the S4 E, an EFB; start-stop with brake energy recovery takes the S5 A, an AGM. A car built with AGM must have AGM again. A car built with EFB can keep the S4 E or step up to the S5 A for more cycling headroom.

Both are cold cranking current, the power the battery delivers to start the engine. They describe the same battery measured to two standards, European EN and American SAE, so the numbers differ. A replacement is compared on the same standard as the original.

None. A double labyrinth lid catches condensed water and channels it back into the cells, so the level never drops and the battery stays sealed for life. The same lid stops acid leaking if the battery tilts, and central degassing with backfire protection lets gas out safely.

Usually 2.5 to 4 years, depending on how the car is driven and how hot it gets where it is parked. High temperatures accelerate self-discharge and ageing, so from the second summer on a yearly check is worth having. Ours is free.
