- Expanded lead-calcium platesMachine-expanded plates in a lead-calcium alloy, for low water loss, low self-discharge and a long shelf life.
- Glass-fibre separatorsThin glass-fibre separators, or PE envelopes, stop short circuits and shield the plates from vibration.
- Forged poles and cast-on busbarForged terminal posts that do not leak, joined by a cast-on busbar that resists vibration.
- Heat-sealed lidThe lid is heat-sealed to the case for strength and rigidity, so electrolyte cannot leak.
- Anti-spill cover and flame arresterAn internal anti-spillage cover and a dust-proof flame arrester guard against leaks and sparks.
- Charge windowA magic-eye window in the lid shows the charge state at a glance.

How We Fit a Volcan
Read the old label
The size standard, case code and terminal layout come off the battery already fitted, so the replacement sits in the same tray.
Match the hold-down
Volcan cases carry B1 or B3 hold-down ledges, and the clamp goes back on so the battery cannot shift.
Clean and tighten the terminals
Clamps are cleaned and tightened, so the connection is firm from the first start.
Check the charging voltage
Volcan is built for a 14.2 to 14.4 V charging system, so the alternator output is read before we leave.
When to test
Signs a Sealed Battery Is on Its Way Out
A slower, laboured crank on the first start of the morning
A swollen or bulging case, which calls for replacement straight away
White or green deposits building up around the terminals
Warning lights or electrical faults that come and go
None of these alone proves the battery has failed. Our free test does, and it takes a few minutes where the car is parked.

Not on its own. Heat seal describes how the lid is fused to the case, which adds strength and rigidity and stops electrolyte leaking. What helps in the heat is the lead-calcium alloy, which loses little water, so the sealed battery never needs topping up.
Yes. Volcan AGM comes in L2 to L5 cases from 60 to 95Ah, and Volcan EFB in L2, L3, Q-85 and S-95 sizes. A car built with AGM takes AGM again; one built with EFB takes EFB or AGM.

Very little. Every Volcan is sealed and comes factory-fresh, ready to use without charging or adding liquid, and it never needs topping up. Clean terminals and a battery clamped firmly to its tray are all the care it asks for.

Yes: our 1-year warranty against manufacturing faults, counted from the fitting date on your invoice. The invoice names the Volcan model fitted, so keep it with the car's papers.
