What a Long Trip Does to the Battery Left Behind
We check whether the battery can still hold a charge, not only whether the car starts. Even locked and switched off, a car keeps the alarm and keyless entry alert, and a control unit that fails to shut down goes on using power until the battery is empty. The longer the car goes undriven, the deeper the damage.
A stored battery should get a top-up charge no less than quarterly, kept away from sunlight and heat. When yours holds its charge, a jump followed by a proper run home settles it; when it cannot, the new one goes into the car where it sits.

The Bridges Into Creek Harbour

A three-lane, 740-metre bridge carries traffic arriving off Al Khail Road or Dubai-Al Ain Road into Dubai Creek Harbour, and a two-lane flyover takes it out onto Ras Al Khor Road towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. There is no metro station yet; the Blue Line's Creek Harbour station is due to open in September 2029. A dead car at the harbour is dealt with in its bay, by a jump or a new battery, or towed out over the same bridges when the fault lies elsewhere.
