How the Sierra's Negative Cable Goes Back On
The 2024 Sierra 1500 manual is strict about the negative cable on Stop/Start trucks, and we follow it on every one:

Liftgate, Windows and Navigation on a Flat Yukon
On a 2024 Yukon, a flat battery is felt beyond the engine. The manual explains that the electric liftgate latch stays shut when the battery is low or disconnected, that express windows may need reprogramming afterwards, and that navigation can lose accuracy when the 12-volt battery has been off for several days.

An AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery, 12-volt, according to GM's 2024 Middle East manual for the Yukon, which also has a Stop/Start system. Its manual points owners to the replacement number on the factory label, and that number is how we pick the AGM battery we bring to your Yukon.
Not if it has Stop/Start. The 2024 Sierra 1500 Middle East manual says trucks with the 2.7L, 5.3L or 6.2L engines and Stop/Start use an AGM battery, and that installing a standard 12-volt battery will result in reduced battery life. We fit the AGM type the truck was built with.
The 2024 Yukon has an electric liftgate latch. Its manual says the latch cannot release on a disconnected or low-voltage battery, and resumes when the battery is back on and charged. A free battery test tells us whether a recharge or a new battery is needed.
For infrequent use, the 2024 Yukon and Sierra 1500 manuals say to remove the black negative cable from the battery. For extended storage, they allow either that or a battery trickle charger. If the truck still will not start when you return, we test the battery where it is parked.
