Test the 12-volt
A load test on the AGM battery separates a flat one from a worn-out one.
American · Off-Road SUVYour H1, H2 or H3 gets its new battery on the driveway, at the office or in a basement bay, any hour, after a free test of the old one. On a GMC Hummer EV we test the 12-volt AGM battery, boost it from the jump points under the hood and explain what its owner's manual says about servicing it.

An H2 or H3 gets a battery matched to the one it already carries. GM's 2009 manuals for both trucks point to the factory battery's replacement number, read off its label, so that is where we start, then case size, terminal side and cold cranking rating are checked on the truck.
The GMC Hummer EV is a different job. Its 2025 Middle East owner's manual lists a high voltage battery and a standard 12-volt battery, and everything we do there is on the 12-volt side.

Free test, new battery fitted, old one recycled.
We carry out Hummer battery replacement on the H1, H1 Alpha, H2, H2 SUT, H3 and H3T at villas, offices and building car parks. Nothing is sold until the old battery has been tested and has failed.
On a 2009 H2 we boost through the remote positive and negative jump terminals near the engine accessory drive bracket, which GM says to use instead of the battery's own posts. On a 2009 or 2010 H3 and H3T, the manual pairs the battery's positive terminal, under its cover, with a remote negative terminal.
The H1 is checked on the truck, and on every model the clamps are tightened and the engine started before we leave.

From the 2023 and 2025 Hummer EV owner's manuals:
Leaving the vehicle in N (Neutral) for a prolonged period drains the 12-volt battery.
Service Mode runs on the 12-volt battery; left on for long, the vehicle may not start.
Without enough 12-volt power, the electric parking brake cannot be applied or released.
Long storage: keep it plugged in, since the vehicle maintains the 12-volt battery daily.
Maintenance stops if the high voltage battery's charge gets too low.

Leads go on the passenger-side jump points the manual names, never on the high voltage system.

You leave knowing what the manual says about servicing the battery and keeping it charged.
Battery Change Dubai comes to your H1, H2, H3 or Hummer EV in the driveway, the office car park or at the roadside, day or night, and tests the old battery before anything is sold.
More than 20 mobile vans work across Dubai. For a battery call, a technician reaches you in about 25 minutes. The vans cover Al Karama, Dubai South, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, office car parks, villa communities and highways.
A fitted battery for an H2 or H3 starts from AED 175, and the exact figure follows the size and rating printed on the truck's current battery. That price is given by phone before the van leaves, the old battery is tested free on arrival, and our 1-year warranty covers the new one.
The 2025 Middle East owner's manual says to see your dealer if either the 12-volt or the high voltage battery needs service, so we do not contradict it. We test the 12-volt AGM battery, jump-start the vehicle from its passenger-side jump points and explain at the visit how the replacement is handled.
The manual names a few habits that drain it: leaving the vehicle in Neutral for a long period, using Service Mode for an extended time, and storing it unplugged with a low high voltage charge. A free test on arrival shows whether it is only discharged or has stopped holding charge.
The 2025 manual puts the discharged battery's positive terminal, under a cover, and its negative grounding point on the passenger side. The battery itself sits under the left underhood cover. Jump only from a vehicle with a 12-volt, negative-ground system, as the manual requires, and connect in the order it shows.
Leave it connected: the owner's manual says not to disconnect the 12-volt battery during storage. It recommends keeping the vehicle plugged in so it maintains the 12-volt battery daily, or, for long-term storage, an AGM/VRLA-compatible tender on the 12-volt battery and the high voltage charge held at 30%.
