Jeep moves the battery around from model to model. The 2023 Wrangler manual puts the main battery in the right rear of the engine compartment, while the 2022 and 2023 Grand Cherokee manuals place it under the driver's front seat, with remote terminals under the hood for jump starting.
Older GCC models differ again: the 2015 Cherokee keeps it at the front of the engine compartment behind the left headlight, and the 2015 Compass at the front below the air intake duct.

Two Batteries in a Stop/Start Wrangler
The 2024 Middle East and 2023 Wrangler manuals say Stop/Start vehicles get a heavy-duty starter and an enhanced battery, and may carry a secondary battery that powers Stop/Start and the 12-volt system. It sits behind the wheel well for the front passenger wheel, away from the main battery.
For that reason, testing both units comes first in any Wrangler Jeep battery replacement. When the car needs a boost first, the leads go on the main battery's positive post only: the manual warns that jump starting from the supplemental battery could cause serious injury or death.
Reasons a Wrangler Holds Off Auto Stop

The 2023 and 2024 Middle East Wrangler manuals say to jump start from the positive post on the main battery, and warn that serious injury or death could result from using the supplemental battery. The Wrangler manual gives two likely reasons. If the Intelligent Battery Sensor was disconnected, Stop/Start may not work for up to 24 hours while it relearns. Low charge also keeps Auto Stop from working, and a freshly fitted battery short of full charge may trigger a Battery Saver message.
