The 2024 Sportage and 2026 Sorento manuals say Idle Stop and Go does not work straight after an AGM battery is reconnected or replaced. This is the sequence they give.
Leave it parked

Kia builds in a wait. The 2024 Sportage and 2026 Sorento manuals say Idle Stop and Go stays off after an AGM battery is reconnected or replaced, until the battery sensor has calibrated for about 4 hours with the ignition off. Turning the engine on and off 2 or 3 times afterwards completes it.
The calibration needs the ignition off, so the four hours only count while the car is parked. Having the battery fitted before a night at home or a day in the office car park lets the wait pass while you are not using the car, and ISG is ready again after two or three starts.
