McLaren Batteries Matched From the Label, Not the Badge
Our starting point is whatever sits in the McLaren today. Chemistry, case size, terminal layout and rating all come off that unit, and the new battery copies all four, so a lithium-ion battery is replaced with lithium-ion and a lead-acid one with the same technology.
You settle on the battery and its cost during the call, and the outgoing unit is recycled.

A Flat 12V Can Keep a GTS Bonnet Shut
McLaren's April 2025 campaign bulletin for the GTS deals with this directly:
McLaren found that on some GTS cars a flat 12V battery can stop the bonnet being opened manually.
Its fix is a redesigned bonnet latch and wheel-arch liner bracket, fitted by McLaren retailers.
If your GTS has not had that work, your McLaren retailer can tell you whether the car is covered.
If the bonnet will not open when you call us, say so, and the visit is planned around it.
