Hybrid and Electric Porsches Run a 12-Volt Side Too
On the 2024 Macan Electric, a DC/DC converter in the Integrated Power Box supplies the 12-volt electrical system. On the 911 T-Hybrid, the high-voltage battery is compact enough that Porsche compares its weight and size to a conventional 12-volt AGM starter battery, and puts it under the front bonnet of the 911 Carrera GTS. It is a separate system from the starter battery, which is why the car is identified before anything is opened.
We work on the 12-volt side only. If a hybrid or electric Porsche will not wake up, our technician tests the 12V battery on site and tells you plainly whether the fix is ours or one for a Porsche Centre.
