Kodiaq RS Owners: Check the Boot First
Skoda's rescue sheets give the RS its own entry, and the answer changes with the year.

Skoda Mild Hybrids Carry a Second Battery
On the Octavia IV, an e-TEC badge on the tailgate marks the mild hybrid. These cars add a 48V lithium-ion battery to the 12V one, and our work is on the 12V under the bonnet.

It depends on the year. Skoda's rescue sheet for the Kodiaq RS built from 2018 to 2021 places the 12V battery in the luggage compartment, while the sheet for the Kodiaq and Kodiaq RS from 2021 puts it in the engine compartment. Tell us the year and the technician knows where to start.
If it is an e-TEC mild hybrid, yes. Skoda's rescue sheet for the Octavia IV mild hybrid shows a second, 48V lithium-ion battery beneath the front passenger seat as well as the 12V battery in the engine compartment. Our test and any replacement are on the 12V under the bonnet.
Under the bonnet, in the engine compartment, according to Skoda's rescue sheet for the Superb from 2024. Cars with the optional 48V system also carry a lithium-ion battery under a cover in the front passenger footwell. We test the 12V free and replace it on site if it has failed.
