Ignition on, engine off
Switch the ignition on and leave the engine off.
American · Everyday & PickupYour Ford is fitted with a battery matched to the old one's label, whether it stands on a driveway, in an office basement or by the road, anywhere in Dubai and at any time of day. On Auto-Start-Stop models the 2026 Explorer owner's manual allows nothing but the same specification, and it adds a battery sensor reset after fitting, a short routine we show you before leaving.

A free test comes first; the new battery is then picked from the label of the one already in your Ford. On a 2026 Explorer with Auto-Start-Stop the manual makes that a requirement: the replacement must equal the original specification exactly.
Some Fords carry more than one battery. The 2021 Expedition and 2026 Explorer manuals both warn that removing the cables from one battery does not disconnect the electrical system, and the 2026 Explorer Hybrid keeps its secondary battery behind a trim panel in the luggage compartment.

A technician arrives in about 25 minutes.
Free test, new battery fitted, old one recycled.
This is the routine in the 2026 Explorer owner's manual. Steps 2 and 3 have to be finished within 10 seconds, and we take you through it at handover.
Switch the ignition on and leave the engine off.
Flash the high beam headlamps five times, finishing with the high beams off.
Press and release the brake pedal three times.
The battery warning lamp flashes three times when the reset has worked.
Leave the car fully locked with the ignition off for eight hours while the battery management system learns how charged the new battery is.
The 2026 Explorer manual lists window bounce-back, clock settings and pre-set radio stations as features to set again once the battery has been off or swapped.
On the same Explorer, the gearbox has to relearn how it shifts, so the first changes can feel firm. Ford calls this normal.
Until the new battery's charge is relearned, the battery management system can switch some electrical systems off for a while.
The 2021 Expedition manual has the engine warmed up, left to idle for a minute, then driven at least 16 km so the idle and fuel trim are relearned.

What each message means, as the 2026 Explorer owner's manual explains it:
12V battery low Charge by driving: the battery is at a low state of charge; start the engine or charge it
Turn power off to save battery: switch the ignition off as soon as possible to protect the battery
Electrical power saver active: features are switched off to hold on to the remaining charge
Electrical system fault Service now: the charging system needs checking straight away
Dash cams, trackers and lighting are often grounded straight onto the battery. The 2026 Explorer and 2021 Expedition manuals both say an accessory ground must not go directly to the battery negative post, because it gives the battery management system inaccurate readings and can lead to incorrect operation.
During a Ford battery replacement we look for any accessory ground on the negative post and show it to you before fitting, so it can be moved to a proper ground point.

Let Battery Change Dubai know the Ford model and where it is parked, and a battery to its specification is brought to you.
More than 20 mobile vans work across Dubai. For a battery call, a technician reaches you in about 25 minutes. The vans cover Al Karama, Dubai South, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, office car parks, villa communities and highways.
It can be, because an Auto-Start-Stop Ford has to keep its original specification. Fitted prices open at AED 175, and your car's figure is confirmed in the call, before a technician leaves. The visit itself costs nothing extra, and the battery comes under our 1-year warranty.
On the 2026 Explorer, yes. Its manual asks for a battery sensor reset (ignition on, then five high-beam flashes and three brake presses inside 10 seconds) and then eight hours locked with the ignition off so the battery management system can relearn. We take you through the reset at handover.
The 2026 Explorer manual says it appears when the battery management system finds the battery at a low state of charge. Switch the ignition off and cut unnecessary loads. If the message keeps coming back, book a free battery test, and the battery is replaced only if it fails.
Not on an Explorer with Auto-Start-Stop. Its 2026 manual requires the replacement to match the original specification exactly. We read your Ford's battery label and bring a battery to that specification, so the battery management system keeps working with the type it expects.
For a short while it can. The 2026 Explorer manual says the gearbox relearns its shift pattern, so early changes may feel firm, and some electrical features can pause until the new battery's charge is relearned. Window bounce-back, the clock and radio presets also need setting again.
