Japanese · Everyday & HybridOur technicians test and replace Toyota batteries at your home or office, from a petrol Camry to a Land Cruiser hybrid. On some hybrids the 12-volt battery is not under the bonnet: the GCC Highlander Hybrid keeps it on the right of the luggage compartment. Toyota's hybrid manuals ask owners to contact a Toyota dealer before the terminals come off, and we explain at booking how that is handled.

A petrol Toyota and a hybrid one keep their 12-volt battery in different places. Toyota's GCC manual for the petrol Camry with the 2.5-litre or V6 engine shows it in the engine compartment, while the GCC Highlander Hybrid and the 2025 Land Cruiser hybrid carry it in the luggage compartment.
The free test is done where the battery sits, and the replacement matches the case size and capacity of the one fitted.

Four Toyota owner's manuals, four answers. Other Toyotas are checked on the car itself.
| Model and manual | 12V battery position | What the manual asks |
|---|---|---|
| Camry, 2.5-litre and V6 (GCC manual) | Engine compartment | Engine off before disconnecting; body-side negative left in place |
| Highlander Hybrid (GCC manual) | Right side of the luggage compartment, under the side deck board | Contact a Toyota dealer before removing the terminals |
| Corolla Hybrid (GCC manual) | Checked on the car | Same case size, equal or higher 20-hour capacity, European-standard battery |
| Land Cruiser hybrid, 2025 (US manual) | Left side of the luggage compartment | LN3 case, 70Ah or more, 600A CCA or more, exhaust hose refitted |
Toyota GCC owner's manuals OM33F01E (Camry), OM48K22E (Highlander Hybrid) and OM12M44E (Corolla Hybrid); 2025 Land Cruiser hybrid manual OM60X34U.
The GCC manuals for the Corolla Hybrid and the Highlander Hybrid, and the 2025 Land Cruiser hybrid manual, all say the same thing: removing the 12-volt battery terminals clears the information stored in the ECU, so contact a Toyota dealer first. Some systems may need initialization afterwards.
Before any Toyota hybrid battery replacement, we check the battery on the spot and take you through what your manual says at booking, so you can speak to the dealer first if you choose.

The 12V battery is at the back, but the boost goes in at the front. This is the order Toyota gives.
Open the hood and the right-hand side fuse box cover in the engine compartment.
Open the exclusive jump starting terminal cover and connect the positive clamp to the terminal.
Clamp the negative lead to the metallic point the manual's illustration shows.
Toyota allows this terminal only for charging this car's 12-volt battery from another vehicle in an emergency. It cannot be used to start someone else's car.
Open 24/7 across Dubai. The price is agreed on the phone first.
The doors may not unlock with smart entry straight away. Toyota says to use the wireless remote or the mechanical key instead.
The engine may not start on the first attempt after reconnection, and Toyota says it runs normally from the second.
The car remembers the engine switch mode, so the engine goes off before any terminal is disconnected.
The manual warns against disconnecting the negative terminal on the body side, which could touch the positive terminal.
Battery Change Dubai can be at your Toyota day or night to test the battery and fit one that matches the original.
More than 20 mobile vans work across Dubai. For a battery call, a technician reaches you in about 25 minutes. The vans cover Al Karama, Dubai South, Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, office car parks, villa communities and highways.
It depends on the model. Toyota's GCC manual for the Highlander Hybrid places it on the right of the luggage compartment, under the side deck board, and the 2025 Land Cruiser hybrid manual puts it on the left. On other hybrids the technician locates it on the car before testing it.
Toyota's hybrid manuals ask owners to contact a Toyota dealer before removing the 12-volt terminals, because doing so clears information stored in the ECU and some systems may need initialization. We explain at booking how that is handled for your model, so you can speak to the dealer first.
No. The GCC Highlander Hybrid and 2025 Land Cruiser hybrid manuals say the exclusive jump starting terminal is only for charging your own 12-volt battery from another vehicle in an emergency, and it is not for starting another vehicle. A portable booster or a jumpstart visit is the answer instead.
The GCC Highlander Hybrid manual explains that the 12-volt battery discharges gradually even when the car is not used, and the hybrid system may then fail to start. It recharges itself while the hybrid system runs, so a jump and a test on site show whether a new battery is needed.
The manual asks for the same LN3 case size as the original, a 20-hour capacity of 70Ah or more and a cold cranking rating of 600A or more. After fitting, the exhaust hose and exhaust hole plug go back on the new battery. We match those figures before quoting.
Prices for Toyotas start at AED 175 with fitting. Whether it is a petrol Corolla or a Land Cruiser hybrid, your exact price is set during the call, before anyone drives out. Testing is free, no call-out fee is added, and the new battery is covered for 12 months under our 1-year warranty.
