Heat, Start/Stop and the Volkswagen Battery
The 2021 Tiguan manual warns that using start/stop in very high outside temperatures over a long period can damage the 12-volt battery. It adds that the engine stop function may switch itself off above around 38°C, and that the electrolyte level should be checked regularly in hot countries.

Some indicator lamps may light up after reconnection and go out after a short drive at about 15 to 20 km/h.

The 2021 Tiguan owner's manual says the vehicle electronics must be adapted as part of a battery replacement, carried out by a qualified workshop. What applies depends on the model and year, so at booking we explain how your car's adaptation is handled, before anyone sets off.
The 2021 Tiguan manual lists conditions for an automatic engine stop, including enough charge in the 12-volt battery and a battery temperature that is not too low or too high. Above around 38°C the stop function may switch off by itself. If it stays off in cooler weather, a free test settles whether the battery is to blame.
On the 2021 Tiguan, a light yellow or colourless window on top of the battery means the electrolyte level is too low and the manual says to have the battery replaced. Black means the level is correct. Some batteries cannot be checked this way, which is where a test helps.
